"The Bittersweet Life" Episode 121: WOMAN
The BitterSweet Life. is Rome-based podcast exploring the wonder and frustration of living as an expat, with two very different points of view on the “dolce vita.” Katy Sewall is a newly-minted expat, planning to live in Rome for one year. Tiffany Parks moved to Rome ten years ago, intending to stay. Join them weekly for unadulterated conversation. Get to know Rome. Laugh at our embarrassments and insights. Most of all, imagine the possibilities for your own life. This week, Katy sits down with Reality adventure TV director Scottie Madden and her wife Marcy to talk about filming in wild places, true love and Scottie’s journey from man to woman in 50 years. It's a delightful joy ride through the very special marriage that survived a trip over-the-falls to flourish into an amazing love story.
Marcy & Scottie go on "The Record" with NPR's Bill Radke
"An amazing experience, I never expected Bill to want to go that deep..." was Scottie's response to the taping of NPR's 'The Record with Bill Radke." The interview was stop 1 for Marcy & Scottie's tour and as Marcy says, "A great and loving way to start the week off right," Bill was a great listener with really deep questions - a profound journey, made smooth and welcoming by producer Kate O'Connell. The show aired Thursday, June, 23rd at noon on KUOW, here in Seattle and links to the podcast are here:
Marcy & Scottie were asked to share with Psychologists, Family Counselors and Social Workers via innovative website "Mending Minds,Minding Hearts.com" how they face adversity.
Kathryn England, psychotherapist, consultant, educator, and facilitator, created her website Mending Minds Minding Hearts to provide people with simple, practical knowledge and information on a wide range of topics that impact psychological health and well-being. She invited Marcy & Scottie to share their stories to help inspire and inform her clients, others in the mental health community and educators. Both Marcy & Scottie were grateful for the opportunity to sit with Ms. England, and her wisdom, compassion and intelligence that she brought to her questions. Enjoy!
